1. Precision Cutting: Specialized hand tools are used to lay out and deepen your desired checkering pattern on your gunstock. A range of custom checkering patterns are offered which can be tailored to your preferences.
2. Compatibility with Finishing: While checkering can be done on a finished stock, it is recommend to incorporate it during the refinishing process. This allows optimal results while minimizing the risk of minor nicks and scratches on the surrounding wood. These imperfections are easily eliminated during the sanding phase of refinishing, ensuring a quality final product.

The checkering process typically takes 2-8 weeks to complete, especially when coordinated with refinishing.
What should I select?
Step 1 - Please see templates page to decide what design you would like. If you would like to bring your own design to life, please go to the Contact page to begin discussing your project.
Step 2 - After deciding on your design, select the corresponding template number below. The first number is the design template. The second number is the Lines Per square Inch (LPI) you are selecting for your checkering pattern.
For example: If you desire a Template 1 design for your gunstock, and would like it to be done without a border in 20 LPI: select 1.20. In the corresponding form which will pop up to collect further detail, select “no border.”
