Custom Super Grade Checkering

In this project, a customer envisioned a distinctive Model 70 Featherweight stock featuring a stylish Schnabel fore-end, complemented by a pre-64 Model 70 Super Grade checkering pattern. My role was to enhance the stock by meticulously applying this intricate checkering. I ensured that the diamond shapes were perfectly aligned and crisply defined, providing both aesthetic appeal and a secure grip. After completing the checkering, I refinished the stock to highlight its natural grain and create a smooth, durable surface. The finished product is a stunning blend of classic design and skilled craftsmanship, resulting in a lightweight stock that beautifully showcases the rich heritage of Winchester firearms.
